Justin Trudeau spent part of World Environment Day on Monday in a Canada-themed kayak checking in with constituents about climate change and other environmental issues.

One Canadian was especially excited to see the PM kayaking over to talk to her parents as part of his paddle on the Niagara River. Canada is hosting World Environment Day this year and the theme is "Connecting People to Nature," so it makes sense that he was out and about on the water.

Trudeau told her parents he was happy to be out in the water and joked about it being part of his job.

After posting her parents' encounter with the prime minister, jealous tweets came in mostly from Americans with the usual swoons about Trudeau.

After his kayak trip, Trudeau held a press conference on the banks of the river in Ontario to address climate change, Canada's role in combating global warming, and moving forward with the Paris Climate Agreement after President Donald Trump announced the U.S. was pulling out last week.

Trudeau gave his talk to the media while in his life jacket from his kayak ride -- classic politician attire.
